Default How to fix split open wheel well?

Hi, I just realized my wheel well (under my sink) just split open, don’t know what would have caused it. You can see the top of outside wheel from under the sink. Kinda struggling how to tackle this, Can anyone give an idea on how to repair this?

Thank you

After a blowout tore up my wheel well (years ago), I used galvanized sheet metal and "pop rivets" to fix the damage. Wear heavy gloves -- those edges are sharp. Don't ask how I learned this tip.

I then "up armored" the new wheel well with mud flap rubber -- very inexpensive. Buy it at a truck supply store. I cut it to shape and used Gorilla Glue to fasten it in place.

Since I have had no blowouts in many years, I don't know if the rubber armor would have worked to prevent damage. But it made me feel better.

Here is a link to my blog entry on the armor project:

profdant139, brilliant idea, hammer well flat down then cut thick rubber + gorilla glue + rivet it in place

your job looks great, thank you so much

I would also beat it back into place then pop rivet a piece of aluminum angle iron to reinforce it then use the materials Profdant 139 suggested. Silverado
