Default How to Fix this...

Hello,

I just bought 2005 Fun Finder 189FBR. my plan is to remove everything inside of the trailer and convert into a Tiny home, so i got this one for 1,200 i tested everything as far as lights AC , Fridge, Babroom and everythings works fine.

I want to Start by removing furniture
-Fix front of the trailer and left side (Front window has a leak) side window also has a leak.

The front is soft and left side is also soft so that seem that the wood needs to be replaced but my question is..
can i remove the fiberglass replace the wood structure and glue it back on ? how complicated is this ? (i never worked with fiberglass)

Or instead of putting the old fiberglass back on, is there any other material i could use? (left side might be able to repair from the inside without removing anything from the outside.

Any help is appreciated !

This is a youtube video I've had bookmarked for awhile. They replaced their fiberglass front with aluminum.

Would i be able to use a/c ? fridge ? lights ?

Yes, but you won't be able to use everything and I'd run the fridge on propane. It also depends what in your house is on the same breaker. Best if nothing else is on it or whatever it is could overload your breaker. Don't run the a/c and microwave at the same time. We had ours plugged into an outdoor outlet at our last house and never had a problem except one time when Hubby forgot and plugged a chop saw into the same breaker. Oops.

I don't think you can re-use the front skin, The delamination causes the skin yo distort and it would most likely crack if you tried to smooth it out. If you don't want to spend ridiculous amounts of money for filon or aluminum, you can use FRP. At $33 for a 4 x 8 sheet, you can do the front for under$100, including a trim strip. (I got lucky, my RV guy had some remnant fiberglass). Your side bubbles can be epoxied back down. There are several videos on YouTube that show how to do it. You may or may not find water damage under the front skin. Mine only had damage on the passenger side front corner. It was caused by water getting in around the front speaker which was just screwed to the side. No gasket, no butyl tape, no silicone - nothing! 11 years of water caused quite a bit of damage. We peeled the skin back to the dinette window and replaced the rot. Here is a pic of the front of mine after the skin came off. PM me and I can walk you through what he did to replace the skin.

Before you do side repairs, chances are high that the roof is leaking and there is significant damage up top. Also, depending on the amount of water damage on the side, you might be able to cut out the damaged area and fill it in with Bondo fiberglass filler. In any case, you have quite a bit of work ahead of you in order to made it weather tight. Keep us updated.

You can do this and run most everything. Fridge and lights for sure. You probably can't run the AC though. You really should have a 30A circuit for that and you could potentially damage the AC.
