Default sofa replacement

We also would like to do that in our 189 X FBS.. Trying to find two recliners to fit in a 70 inch space is proving difficult. If you have any luck let me know..

You don't mention what year your 210WBS is... I had a 2008 and, unfortunately, the jack-knife sofa sat on a plywood box that enclosed the slide mechanism. No way to get rid of the jack-knife sofa without having to re-engineer the slide. I don't know if the later years had the Schwintek slide mechanism (in the wall gearing), that may make it easier, but, you'd best check what is under the sofa before making any changes...

Mine is a 2008 also, and no I really haven't dug in to it yet to see what was under, just seeing if anyone had done it. We it will give me something to do over the winter, take the couch apart and see what is under it. Worse case have the shop redue the materiel and make it sit better.

Since yours is a 2008, it is an easy matter of getting under the sofa. You can pop off the two little plastic "flowers" and underneath of those, you'll find a screw...remove the screw (two; one on each side) and then tip the jacknife sofa half way back. The bottom (front) cover will then be able to swing out and then you can lift it off of the metal rod that runs across the front edge under the sofa.

One of the mods I made to mine, to gain some more storage space was to reinforce the sides with some wooden framing and then built a shelf that would hold some small crates. I then fixed the front panel to be held close with some rare earth magnets and some angle iron down each front edge for the magnets to grip to. Sounds more complicated than it actually was, but, I gained a boat load of storage space under that sofa...
