Default Leaf spring eye bushings

Hi folks,

I have a 2009 funfinder 210wbs, and probably around a couple of thousand miles on it. Really enjoy it. I got to reading an article elsewhere on the net about lightweight trailers having nylon bushings for leaf spring eyes, and that they probably need to be replaced after a few thousand miles. Have any of you ever had a problem with these bushings and if so, did you replace them with metal bushings. Any and all advice will be truly appreciated.

thank you

Really??
I've never heard that. Can you link the website, I'd like to read it.

BTW.. I've got well over 10K kms on my trailer and the bushings look fine. Although looks vs function may be another thing altogether.

I have the same trailer that I just bought in October, so a lot fewer miles, but I have not heard anything about the bushings. I don't recall reading anything in about that in the owners manual either.

I would hope that the trailer would be designed to get more than just a few thousand miles out of these bushings though. But what do I know, I'm pretty new to all this.

Sorry I'm not much help with an answer, but I'm very interested in what you find out.

Default Leaf spring eye bushings

If you go to rv.net and type spring eye in the search box, it will go to a topic about spring bushings. The second post there got me to thinking about this. Now this may not be a problem, at least i hope not. But, in my way of thinking, is that these bushings being nylon, they could deteroriate, but i cannot see them lasting such a short period of time. Thanks for your replies. We all find help in asking questions. The old saying "several heads are better than one".

Let's put it this way, I don't think any manuf. would have a product that had a large failure rate within their warranty period. If this was a big issue, we'd all see a recall letter come out.

While I don't see it is a big concern, I'll just add it to my pre-trip checklist.
