Due to our linoleum splitting we were having carpeting installed when the tech told us our roof was leaking at the seams and had been for some time. He unfortunately was right and we have some leaking on the inside front corner that makes the carpet wet and smelly by the bed. We have had everything sealed but damage already done. The tech said they cut the covering right at the seam instead of allowing extra for protection. Anyone else have this problem?
The front seam is a problem with this vintage unit. I don't know how many units we looked at that had this problem. My solution is to buy some Eternabond tape (6" wide) and use it to cover the entire front seam. Eternabond can be found on EBay or Amazon and is great stuff. You need to clean the surface with acetone or alcohol before sticking the tape on.
