Default Raise Spare Tire Mount

Have any of you raised the spare tire mount on your trailer? I have a cargo rack on the back of mine and it would be much more "useable" if the spare was mounted up higher. I'm having the carrier cut down to 24" wide from it's current 36".

That would likely take pretty extensive modification as there is going to be some sort of reinforcement on the inside of the wall to support it in it's current position. How high are you wanting to raise it?

Another option might be something like this:
BAL - Innovative Products for the RV Industry

I just got introduced to the BAL yesterday. Going to take a serious look at it. I would need the bottom of the tire 16" above the carrier.
