Range vent hood-lost part

On the outside of my 06 t160 FF is a vent from the exhaust fan. There used to be a plastic plate that fit up inside the housing via two Twist tabs...to keep whatever out...well it is gone, along sides some interstate! Replaceable or should I try and make one? It's a Jensen by Elixir. Oh, this is the range exhaust veñt.

I made a replacement out of a industrial face shield and made a spare to keep in the trailer. Just draw out the dimensions and leave two small tabs on the top to act as the hinge point. Silverado

Sounds like a plan. Guessing the piece I lost hinges at the top and when the vent is turned on it opens and when turned off it shuts and the two toggles on the bottom sort of holds it in place. Will take off outside cover for measurements when we get back fm this trip....tnx.

Lot's of places carry these. And they are cheap - like less than $10.

I thought about buying the same one but decided to use better material while making a new one and see if the hinge part would be stronger and have not lost this one. I think aluminum would be my next choice.

I actually modified the original flap. After the plastic swing tabs broke off, I super glued a steel rod along the top that extended out on either edge about a 1/2 inch. The extended rod ends now act as the swing tabs. It will never break again.
