Default Satellite Dish Hookup

I recently purchased a 2014 Fun Finder 244RBS. I am thinking of purchasing a TAILGATER satellite dish. I am curious can you plug into the cable outlet and work this ? Or do I need a seperate lead into the trailer for satellite hook up?

So if I understand this correctly your able to attach your cable from the dish antenna to the cable outlet on your trailer. Then place your tuner with a line running to that and then to tv correct. My tv is built in the center of the trailer but am wondering where to place the tuner?

I have a 2012 Fun Finder. I was told by Fun Finder, that the cable hook up in the trailer would support cable only. Yours may be different because it is 2 years newer.

I would have to run a different cable (through the window) to the receiver box. In my trailer, I did not have the room to put it anywhere except for on top of the bed. A little inconvenient.

You might want to check with Fun Finder to see if your year and model will support the satellite hook up.

that makes no sense the trailers are equipped with a cable feed in this should support any cable signal as long as you
1) are tied into a rv spot that has cable service
2) your provide your won service via DTV or Dish, sane thing as what an rv park would provide.

Some trailer may only have antenna feed with the power switch you can put a simple splitter inline to over come that.

I have a 2012 189FDS and I have had no problems, maybe they actually built mine correctly or they screwed up and that's why it works...probably the latter

Default Satellite

OK contacted Fun Finder. I was told unless its labeled SATELLITE it would not work. The cable hookup is for cable and antennna. Booster off for cable. Booster on for antenna. Was told the booster even off will over ride satellite feed. Once tailgator arrives will try it as I have often found even manufacture does not know its head from its butt sometimes

So they are saying the antenna signal (unboosted) will override a satellite signal but not a cable signal. That doesn't make any sense to me. I'm betting it will work just fine.

You have to take into account who you are dealing with here. Cruiser IMO is lost from the front office down to the guy popping a rivet in wrong on the assembly line then losing his safety glasses for the customer to find when he goes to fix their mess. I'm guessing it'll work fine.

Don't worry it won't work for long , because if you touch the cable lines at all the f- connector ends will fall off or they are shorted out from piss poor connectors and cutting into the wire , had to replace all of mine just like everything else that I had to fix in this thing !!!

I'm pretty sure that our trailers were built on the same day lol

Everytime I use it or even move it I have to fix something along the way or before under way. 90% of every problem is build or assembly related. It doesn't take a trained eye to see how bad this thing was built by unqualified uncaring workers with a management staff just as bad as the workers they are supervising.

Eventually I will have this thing to my standards about the time it is wore out.

With what securityman and roy report, I'm glad mine was mfg by a different crew or different week/month as have had very few problems and what did surface, were all minor adjustments or alterations of my preference.

Special ordered mine in the spring of 2012, waited a month for it to come in, drove over 300 miles to get it from the nearest dealer and couldn't be more pleased.

Thanks for the update on the sat hookup, that is works fine connected to the exterior TV connector.

I've thought about getting a satellite set-up but not sure it would pay for the use time as mostly try to stay in 'commercial campgrounds.' NOt much of anyplace to 'dry camp' around here and the better state parks are booked months in advance. Most of my camping trips, except one or two, are pretty much within a day or two of the weekend due to the wife's work and other variables.

From the CruiserRV website, these are standard equipment on ALL Fun Finder models: Cable and satellite exterior hookups.

Here's the link: http://cruiserrv.com/products/fun-fi...ds-and-options

I, too, am anxious to take delivery on my new 189FDS to see how the television wiring is and how it needs to be adapted to my needs. I have a Winegard Carryout I'll need to install.

Where the heck do you put the tv so that you can see it from both the dinette and the bed (not necessarily the same time...)

I ended up buying a bigger tv that was DC not a/c, also went with a more flexible mount so you can swing it out past the bathroom door, lay in bed and watch.
