Default Shower drain not connected to P trap

I hope we haven't messed up. After noticing a significant amount of water leaking onto the ground, we discovered that our shower drain was not connected to the P trap. We attempted unsuccessfully to conduct a repair. In doing a test, we accidentally left the shower valves open all night (the on/off switch on the shower head was off). We discovered this the next morning when water was still coming out from underneath the rear of the camper (2013 214 WSD). Although the water stopped flowing when we shut the shower valves off, there is still quite a bit of water leaking out from under the trailer. We are concerned about this leading to permanent damage. Any thoughts out there on what we should do to mitigate?
