Default Skylight above shower in FF189FBS

Hi Folks,
Enjoy the site very much. Very informative.

While using the shower I constantly bump my head into the corners of the skylight. I'm 5'11" and I'm glad I'm not taller as it would be very difficult to comfortably use this shower. It seems that the 15" x 15" opening is not quite aligned exactly right, for me anyway.

My question is:

Is it feasible for an amateur like me to add a larger skylight? In particular I would like to install a 15"x22" or some such size bigger. I figure I would have to cut out the roof/ceiling with a Sawzall. I removed the inside molding to see what I could see. It was covered with a metal flashing that I thought best not to remove.

Could anyone tell me if there are support beams in this area that I should not cut?

Sorry if this topic has been covered previously.

Thank you for your time.

Sorry I can't help you. But, I'm considering adding a skylight above the dinette table for more light, so if you do do this, please pass on what you find out.
