Default Slide out awning and Couch

I have a 2011 21WBS, When I bought it I had them install the small awning over the slide out so I have never used it without the awning it. Every time I put the slide out i have to push on the top of the slide to get sealed and flush not a big deal to me, but I have always thought that my couch felt like it was leaning forward and i thought it may have been due to the back the slide doesnt weigh enough to counter the tension of the awning.

What are others experience with the slide awning and couch?
