Default Slide removal?

Any input is appreciated.

Here's my issue:
After investigating bubbles in the vinyl covering of the wooden base board of the slide in my '07 X250 BHS i found severe water damage to the slide base plywood board (the plywood board on which the jack knife sofa sits.
I found and fixed the actual water leak and tried to dry out the wet wood as much as possible, but the wood seems too weak for my liking now and I want to replace the entire base board. After removal of "Horse Shoe", slide skirt, sofa and bunk (to lighten the slide), I now have a good view of all slide components. It appears thet it would be tricky to remove the base board of the slide without the rest of the slide structure to drop/fall apart.
Has anyone replaced this board before? If yes, how did you brace the slide? Does the slide have to be removed? If so, how do I pull it out with the least amount of trim/seal damage?

I've never done what you are attempting, but, I wouldn't think that the slide has to come out.

If I were to attempt removing the the base board that the slide motor and rack assembly are attached to (I'm comparing your description with the way my 210's slide, sans bunk, is built), I would pull the slide in and brace it from outside with a couple of lengths of 2x4 to keep the slide tight against the side of the trailer and then wedges inside under the sides that are exposed to hold them in position. It should then be an easy enough job to remove the board, transfer the motor and slide ladders and theen bolt the new board back on. Remove the bracing and everything should be as it was...

As I said, that's how I would do it if I had to...thankfully, I don't!

Maybe someone else has a better idea?
