Default SoftStart AC

When I went solar with a whole RV inverter, I installed a soft start for the AC system. I taped the OEM unit next to it under the shroud in case it gave me problems and I needed to switch back. Now-6 years later and I have no complaints. I don't even notice any difference. I did it because with the OEM unit the surge would bog down the battery/inverter system and lock up the compressor and shut down. With the soft start, I can be off grid and start the AC and the compressor kicks on, no issues. With my old 4 lead acid RV batteries and solar panels I could run the AC about an hour, long enough to cool down a hot RV (sometimes while driving, so I get to the campground, hook up and have a cool RV). But the compressor cycles on/off and doesn't lock up. With my new 4 LiFePO batteries, I haven't stress tested it yet for duration comparison.

Here are multiple brands and prices of soft starts on the market. Some companies provide more customer support than others.
Attached is an interesting article.

I installed micro air easy start. Used to take 30 amps to start Ac. Now never goes over 10 amps.
Easy to install and I’m no electrician.
