Default Speaker wires

Hi all!

Maybe somebody can help me with this. I took a speaker down to move it over a little, and forgot to pay attention to how the wires were hooked up. There is a red and a black terminal, the wires are black and green. I'm assuming black is black and green is red and that's how I hooked it up. So if I'm wrong, I still have time to fix it.

Any idea? I don't want to have to take the other one down to look at it, apparently I pigtailed some plain old silver speaker wire on to it last time i fiddled around with things and I'll have to trace it back.

Liz

The black wire is most likely the ground. The black terminal on the speaker is the ground. If you look closely the terminals are probably marked + & -.

Even if you hook them up the wrong way it won't hurt anything. You might not even notice the difference.

The only thing that happens if the wires are backwards is a fuzzyness to the sound, It's surprising how many vehicles, auto and rv, have them reversed from the factory.
