Default Stove Vent Repair/Replacement

FYI - 2012 X-UDS If you ever leave the damper open on the exterior of the range/stove exhaust vent, it will vibrate and fall off while towing.

One fix - simply replace the damper door. It has the two small "nubs" at the top, one on each side. A replacement door can be flexed and fit in.

You may somehow scrape the side of the trailer and damage the vent itself. The vent with damper door can be removed and replaced.

http://www.rvupgradestore.com/Range-...-p/31-8485.htm

The link is one possible source for the vent/damper door assembly. I think you can buy the damper door by itself. I haven't found a source yet.

One of the more popular vent makers Ventline will not fit.

Default Screen inside vent

With a lot of effort, I installed window screening inside the vent hatch -- it keeps out the mosquitoes!

FYI....I contacted RVupgrades and they've gotten back to me with the part number. They do not stock this so they did not have much info, but they can get the part. I searched the web for Heng's part number 31-1786 and found it at other rv suppliers. I plan to measure my vent this weekend to make sure this is the correct replacement damper and if so I will be ordering it as I have lost mine too!

Great idea about the screen. I forget to close mine sometimes. I'll have to try that. My vent flap came loose but my local RV store didn't have a match. I simply put it back up with strong tape along the edge--the tape isn't seen as it's hidden beneath the outer plastic hood.

Default Fly your duct tape flag proudly!

The tape is hidden?? What fun is that? There is a direct correlation: the more duct tape plastered to your trailer, the more fun you are having. If your trailer is showroom-perfect, you aren't doing enough camping!

Duct tape will fix most anything.

Gorilla tape will fix it even better.

Hint: Duct tape and Gorilla tape tear easily. I also carry a roll of strapping tape (the tape you can't tear) in case of a "tape up emergency" where duct tape would tear easily.

I called Cruiser RV and they gave me a part # 150200015. Said that an authorized Cruiser/Fun Finder dealer would be able to use the part # and order a replacement. I tried an RV Parts & Service Dealer, but they couldn't cross reference the part #.
So-I pulled the vent cover off the RV and took it in. We matched it to the Heng's.

I had my vent replaced once..It broke again then I used aluminum tape. The kind you use on heating ducts. You can't see it and it has been holding for at least 3 years as well.

I replaced mine too as the flap was off when we bought out FF. Also, someone posted that they put a small block of foam rubber up into the outside of the vent to keep it from bouncing around whilst they are on driving down the road.
