Default TV Connection

Trigger Warning: I’m a tech idiot!!!

I don’t watch TV when I’m camping so I put my TV into my parents new camper. What do I need in order for them to watch TV? It’s plugged in and the cable cord is connected but there are no channels. (Feel free to roll your eyes and tell me to go churn butter)
They have an antenna, but wouldn’t they need some sort of cable box or modem or something? Or do they need a camp spot that has a cable TV connection? (I warned you I was an idiot about this topic!)

Hi, If the TV is fairly modern (digital) it should work off the roof antenna or a park cable connection. If it is an older analog TV, you will need a digital convertor to use the roof antenna. Digital TV's have settings that need to be set for input types. Refer to owners manual on this. You can print one off online from TV manufacturer. Set TV for antenna input. Be sure your TV cable is connected to the roof antenna, raise and aim it at TV broadcast station. Look at house antenna's to see where they are aimed if you don't know. Roof antenna likely has amplifier (push button next to cable connection) Turn it on. Lastly, do auto channel search on TV settings. If you hook up to park cable, turn off amplifier and change TV settings to cable. Run search again. Good luck

Thank you so much! I’m going to work on that as soon as I’m done doing some other repairs.
