Default Upgrade the backsplash - tile or not to tile??

Well we just purchased a Fun Finder 242 and as awesome as the kitchen finishes looked in pictures to my surprise (wife and kids too) the tile looking backsplash was only wall paper. Damn it looks real in pictures. So we are already wanting to tile it, I know weight, weight, weight is what everyone is concerned with but it will be lightweight tile and its not a huge area. So my question is who has done this already? Any tips or things to look out for when doing this. I have done plenty of tile on homes and there are several self adhesive types on the market now that should be more than durable and light weight for sure. the right side cabinet I am going to add a clear Plexiglas panel so that splatter is cleaned easily and the cabinet finish is still maintained.
Couple of pic's of the area I am working with.

and the tile we finish we are leaning towards

If you go onto rv.net, you can search for discussions of re-tiling the backsplash -- lots of folks have used various lightweight tile products.

I just slapped a piece of thin clear acrylic across the wallpaper "tile." I fastened it to the wall with a few short pan head screws. Cheap, simple, light, and easy to wipe down. But not as nice as real tile.

The most important thing to consider in my opinion would be no grout! Grout would disintegrate with the movement in the trailer. Even using mastic could be a problem. You might try riding in the trailer around the block (yes, probably illegal) to get a feel for how much everything gets shaken up back there. We too have done quite a bit of tile in our homes. But they stay put!

perhaps something like these would do (no grout involved at all) :

We have similar but I think they are the ones he called "only paper". They have stayed on our walls very well and look nicer than the former eallpaper border did.

Default Try Smart Tile

I had good results with Smart Tile. Much easier to install, looks like real tile, is easy to clean and holds up well with the vibrations in the RV.
