Default What do you use to remove sap from a awning?

While I was extending the awning I notices that it was literally sticking to itself due to sap for last fall. Does anyone have a sap removal remedy for an awning? Also, on a related issue, has anyone ever lubricated the dc motor for a Dometic power awning?

There are many awning cleaning products on the market to choose from.

However, I found that plain ole' regular shower curtain cleaner works well and is less expensive than some of the 'special' awning cleaners.

For RV's ~

and this deals specifically with awnings:

Tree sap can be removed with Murphys oil soap, alcohol, and other products mentioned here:

Thanks a bunch. The rubbing alcohol dissolves the sap very quickly. Normally, once I done cleaning the awning, I spray it with a Mold and Mildew blocker so that if it gets wet when rolled up, it will not create a fungus farm.
