Towing a T139 with a 1950 Ford
I just bought this camper in July off my uncle. First time I towed it with a V6 1500 series Chevy truck towed fine no problems. But I'd rather take my 50 ford camping so I custo made a tow hitch for it. The back end sank too much so installed air shocks which cured that problem. Next I installed an electronic brake controller and what a huge difference that made. Unfortunatly the first trip out I melted the boot on one air shock 15min. on the road. It still towed ok I was only camping 45min. away so it wasn't to big of a deal. Power is no problem I have a 350 with 700r4 trans. and 3.10 gearing. My only complaint is sometimes it can feel a little squirrely on the highway but I think if I installed antisway bars front and back on the Ford it might help somewhat. I get a lot of comments on the car/trailer combination.
