Default Towing X214WSD with 2011 GMC Acadia

I have a 2011 GMC Acadia AWD with the factory tow package. It is rated at 5200# and a 600# tongue weight. I would like to use it to tow a 2013 FF X-214WSD. I have a Equal-I-Zer weight distribution switch with a 1000# tongue weight and 10000# capacity. With this set-up would a X214wsd work. Most trips would be under five hours but longer ones are possible.
Thank you.

Possibly, but it will be hard to stay below that limit once you add in all your gear. The 214WSD has a dry weight of 3800 lbs which doesn't include the weight of any of the accessories like propane, batteries, awnings, etc. The hitch weight is 445 lbs., so that only leaves you 955 lbs capacity for all of the accessories, the hitch, passengers & gear. Filling the freshwater tank is probably out of the question because that would be another 300+ lbs.

Thank you for the response. I figured it would be cutting it close.

Default TOW VEHICLE

We are towing a 210WBS with a 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the 5.3 engine, 3.42 rear end, and factory towing package which is rated for over 9000 pounds towing weight. We are traveling light, yet the pickup seems underpowered for this camper, especially in the mountains. We were in first gear on some of the steeper grades in Wyoming. I am now a believer in having lots of power in the tow vehicle.
