All the ads
I really like the people on this Forum and I really like the Forum, and we have had a ton of really great and informative discussions... But all the adds I don't... most I find tasteless, some even offensive, and wish we had left it as before...
I don't mean to offend anyone and just thought I would say something... I can understand and believe it was done to help with the finances...

I never noticed them except in the lower right of my screen for RV Life. I use Firefox and adblocker plus. Out of curiosity, I tried Google Chrome and got an ad at the top and another at the bottom. I am sticking with Firefox.

I use adblocker with chrome -- no problem at all. But I whitelisted the RVLife magazine -- very useful articles.

Not offended... but they do help defray costs of keeping the board online. Interestingly we all see different ads (everyone sees rvlife links though) and they are based on a variety to things including your location, perhaps past internet browsing and even key words on the page you are viewing. For instance you might see ads for e-trailers if you are reading about hitches and towing.
Last week I was shopping for some new light fixtures for my house and now I am seeing loads of adds from electrical contractors

Sorry, I'm not much help on this subject.
No problem here with the ads. I see a lot of e-Trailer ads. And the, ever present, Jungle Disk ad.
Something called CASA but I don't know what that is.

I see "do it yourself" rv ads, tool ads and firearm ads.

Like some others have noted, I use Chrome and the AdBlocker add-on. This keeps the ads on my page to a minimum.
I work for an ad agency, and I can tell you that it's AMAZING how much the marketers know about you as a browser. Age, Race, Income, Sex, Religion and practically every site you've visited and how long you stayed. But it's not as creepy as it sounds- the benefit of this knowledge is that they can show you things that are likely to interest you. If you click on an ad, two things happen: the site gets a little ad revenue bump, and your online profile becomes a bit more accurate in what ads are displayed.
Google is the big player in this, but Bing, Facebook, Twitter, and a dozen others are all gathering information about our habits.

I use my iPhone and just get ads in the right pane which I flip right by. I have become very good at ignoring all ads. If I need something I know where to find it.
On my laptop I have Adblock, but I only use the computer to do some banking that I can't do on my phone or iPad. I understand why the ads are here though...pays the bills. We are still seeing Silverado ads.

I used Firefox a hundred years ago and went to Google Chrome and I like the way it works and it is supposed to have an add blocker as well. I turned on everything I could last night and we'll see how things go... Thanks for the Firefox tip...

Yep, that's what I figured too and it's because of the folks here that I get on here in the evenings...

I really hate those sites that show you something really interesting and when you click on the photo all sorts of really nasty things are interspersing with what you wanted to see. Usually it's something on someone posts on Facebook that lures you in. I have learned to ignore those sites too. Some can verge on porno!!

Yep, Yep, totally agree; I may have got Google to turn a lot of them off, ???, but thank goodness, they are mostly gone...

I am often afraid to click on links in ads -- there might be malware. I am not sure that is really true, but better safe than sorry. When I want to shop, we go to Amazon or to the store sites (Lowes or Home Depot or whatever).

Interesting. The only ones I get are the Red Cross at the top & a block with links to articles at DoityourselfRV. They're always the same.
While there's always some risk of getting some malware, that's mostly from emailed ads. The forum gets paid when you click on the links posted here.
