Default 2007 189fbr

Hi there. Just acquired 2007 x189fbr. Was wondering if others use wd hitch? We don't have yet. Towed home in bad wind 4.5 hours with 2006 f150 no issues. Thought about reese 49911 but I see breakaway switch and propane cover right where brackets dhould mount. Trailer was empty when I hauled it BTW. Were noobs

There may be different opinions on this Weight Distribution usage —

For me, the peace of mind by having a weight distribution hitch, equalizer bars, and an adjustable sway bar — are one more thing not to worry about on the road.

We just returned from a 3200 mile trip through the Rockies and Southwest.

The 189FBS we have is similar to yours at 3200 pounds dry + cargo and liquids on top of that.

It puts the rig at about 3800 pounds.

My truck will handle 5000 pounds — so we are a little under 80% of towing capacity.

Rock solid when towing. No sway or sloppy handling in wind.

Good tires, good hitch set-up, good tow vehicle set up, and good loading techniques are a good requirement, IMO.

The dual propane tank cover is not an issue.

Best, Fred

I am currently towing a 2011 210wbs with a 2006 ford without weight distribution without any trouble. I'm not sure you would need one. If you have already towed it in heavy weather and no problems why add the extra weight .
