Sad thing is, I can see this happening with the group I travel with.

A group of campers traveling together is a poor idea IMO.

Often traffic is backed up behind a row of them and anxious drivers behind get frustrated an do stupid things.

I've travelled often with two other RV'ers. One has a large 5th wheel setup and one a travel trailer. We all have two way radios and stay in contact. Interstate is no problem. When we're on secondary roads, the last camper in line keeps track of traffic behind us. Radios us to ensure we leave plenty of space for those wishing to pass and safely leapfrog in front of us all. If traffic doesn't permit it, the last camper will radio he's pulling over to let traffic pass. Then the middle camper and then the lead camper. We've never had any issues and usually those passing give us a "thumbs up."
It's all about being aware of your surroundings, being considerate and sharing the road. (Oh-yeah, and planning reservations at campsites. Because it's easy to show up and get one site without reservations; but three?)

Good answer. Being courteous always helps.

It seems so cruel. Some people would love to restore those little caravans.

Money to burn I guess...

I would love to have one of those as well! It's a shame that some people find humor in destroying things that others would enjoy and cherish. Just say in'....

Talking

It'd be a lot more fun to run 'em in a figure eight.....like they do in Alabama.
No kidding, on dirt, with real campers...right after the school bus races.

Seriously, having towed loaded cargo trailers in the mountains I can tell ya that, even being safe, a corner will sometimes slip up on you. It'll be a decreasing radius or off camber. That's when I stay away from the TV brakes and reach for that trailer brake!
The well adjusted, well maintained, thank god it's there, trailer brake.
