We just got back from several days of camping and hiking between Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park -- nothing spectacular, just an excuse to get out of town. Here is a link to the blog post, with some photos:
Look, Mom, We're Camping!: Boondocking Near Sequoia National Park: November 2016
Usually, the air is very clear up in the Sequoias -- not this time. It was hazy because of prescribed burning by the Forest Service and the Park Service. We did have one really clear day, though -- this was taken at the summit of Mitchell Peak (10,300 feet), with the Great Western Divide behind us:

(By the way, don't be fooled by this shot -- we are not mountain climbers. We simply hiked to the summit, and we had to scramble over a boulder field for the last 100 yards -- not "technical" at all.)
