Default First snow of the season

The weather forecasters put out a blizzard warning the other day for this area even tho only about 4" snow in the forecast but supposed to be breezy in the range of 50 MPH.

It started snowing last evening around 6 PM and the ground was white when went to bed about 11 PM. No accumulation on the roads as the ground was pretty warm.

This AM, the roofs/ground is white (maybe 2") w/traces on the roads and the temp about 20 - 22 degrees. The sky is overcast but not snowing.

So, our first snow of the season wasn't anything dramatic but before Thanksgiving.

Oh, and of course, the wussies of today cancelled school classes.

Yep, Yep Eagle,
Rain started hear about 3:30 a.m. and rained off and on till about 11:00 a.m. and it turned into a heavy slushy snow, but just covered everything ... maybe a 1/2 inch... Then the wind started... on and off with some pretty stiff gusts.

We got a blizzard warning here as well, with wind up to 50+ and snow. We are about 1/2 way between the cities and St. Cloud, so our accumulation this p.m. is predicted at somewhere between 3" to 12" by around 8:00 p.m.

I guess this means summer is over... Glad I got the snow thrower ready... new belts and tuned up...

Made a big pot of chile this morning and just sampled it... Mmm, just what I needed for a cold day...

Take care and stay warm...

No snow today but lite flurries maybe next Tuesday.

Right now, it's 34 degrees so roads are just wet in places and melting off roofs, etc. The breeze is only 10-17 mph and visibility is 10 miles.

I too, serviced the snowblower on Monday so it's all ready to go to work although won't need it yet. Hummm, sounds like you have more due in for you this evening.

Chile sounds great but have steaks and burgers ready to go on the grill in about 2 hours.

Hope you don't get snowed under
Stay warm too.

Low, very low 80's is OK for riding motorcycle.

However, I do enjoy the changing seasons which were severely missed when living in Oklahoma or in SE Asia.

Christmas without snow just isn't Christmas.

This morning the temp was 13 degrees, nice and crisp, no skeeters, no bugs and clears the sinus!

Maybe 4" on the ground here in NW Michigan. But the wind is blowing pretty good out there. Low 27 tonight gust to about 30 mph. We fired up the wood stove for the first time tonight. 74 degrees in here. Toasty. It was almost 70 degrees yesterday. Typical Michigan weather.
