Default Fun Finder 189FBS vs Starcraft 189FBS

Other day went to my local RV dealership parts for some sealant. As I walked passed the used RV's a unit made by Starcraft called the Travel Star SPORT 189FBS caught my eye. It was a 2009 unit and looking inside and outside, except for decals and upholstery, it was identical in design and layout as the Fun Finder 189, one would bet made on the same assembly line. Anyone heard of the Starcraft unit?

Haven’t heard of the Starcraft, but Cruiser RV did make a Shadow Cruiser with the same 189FDS/FBS model numbers. I remember the Shadow Cruiser had a less expensive slideout mechanism and less detail in the upholstery.

Interesting discovery. Starcraft is one of the older manufacturers. They were building steel boats in the 20s, fiberglass boats in the 50s, and pop-up campers by the 60s.

Somewhere in there, the original Star Tank Company sold the RV business to Jayco and the boat business to Brunswick which was (and I think still is) the largest boat builder in the world. Jayco is now part of Thor, of course.

I have no idea if the Starcraft and Cruisers cross-bred or if one or the other simply did a "splash mold" and churned out a twin...
