Default Funfinder vs Trail-lite crossover

I recently viewed a 21' Trail-lite crossover. They are lighter than Funfinders. Upon close inspection, there appears to be good reason for this. The chassis and running gear look flimsy compared to the Funfinder. All in all the quality of the Trail-lite seems to be lower than Funfinder. Has anyone else done a comparison test between these two?

Its kinda of like asking which is better, Ford, Chevy, or Chrysler.

Its difficult to judge a TT based on just weight since there are so many ways companies use to determine their published weight. Some include the hitch weight and some don't. Trail-Lite publishes axle, hitch and the total of the two. However, the published weight does not include any options and different TT maufacturers have different standard equipment and options (and I think many understate the real weight). The weight of options can add up fast.

R-Vision has been around for about 10 years and I'm sure if you read their forums http://r-visioncamping.org/ the will sound a whole lot like the Funfinder forums. My Funfinder has been great so far, but if shopping I certainly would consider a R-Vision product if the package was what I wanted.

Default Funfinder vs Trail-lite crossover

Jerry,

Thx for ur input. That website on R Vision will be a good one to examine. I hear ya about all the variables in weight etc. Good to hear from someone who has looked at both.

My first post, so Hello everyone. Forgive me if I mess this up, but it should get better! My wife and I are looking for our first RV and have really liked the Fun Finders we've seen at a couple of shows.

Jerry, That's a good point about how different manufacturers include different things in the weight figures. Is that information posted on the web anywhere for the Cruiser Fun Finders? As I mentioned, we're just getting into this and my truck only tows 5,000 pounds. In some early number crunching, it seems like we're going to be close to that limit real fast. Knowing what is and is not in the manufacturers number would keep me from counting things twice and possibly ruling out a model when I don't need to.

The only place I am aware the weight of Fun Finders is published is at their website http://www.shadowcruiser.com/funfinderX/specs.html. I'm sure the figures they publish is without any options. If you want a more realistic weight you have to search some of the other Fun Finder / Shadow Cruiser forums for someone that has actually weighed their unit.
