The slide in the fun finder was only 18 inches max on a 7 foot wide camper , isn't your new one 8 foot wide.

I can't measure, obviously, but I believe my FF slide was deeper than 18".

We were in someone's at a campground last year and it seemed much larger than our fbr inside. We were impressed.

I gotta guess it 2 1/2 feet-ish.

I think the 2007 had a smaller slider.
my new campers 8 feet wide ,that extra foot makes a difference.

Michelle- Since your old and new trailers are about the same length, let me know if there is much of a difference towing with a single axle versus a twin axle trailer. The reason I ask is because Toyota recommends that Highlanders tow trailers with twin axles, maybe because of the Highlanders short wheel base, hence the reason for the FBR. Unfortunately, now days, its getting hard to fine trailers that size with twin axles.

I towed the FF down 4 1/2 hours and the Lance back home 4 1/2 hours. The only difference I felt was that the truck seemed to my not-real-experienced-eye to tow easier up inclines and just in general. I have the 1000 lb Equalizer bars, so I don't think much is going to move me. I had those same bars when I had my FF X-160. Back in THOSE days, before I knew any better, I'd tow at 70-80 mph on 2-lane roads. Pass a truck and not even notice it. I have learned since then that those are not safe speeds! God must have been watching over me...(single axle, original tires. Oh my.)

Our last trailer was an older single axle. I can safely say that the double axle FF that we have now is WAYYYYY better. Especially if you have a blow out. We had 2 with the old trailer. But I was comparing a 80's trailer with the twin FF so that's not quite a fair comparison.

Doesn't matter how much counter space one has, in the case of campers, more IS better!

Michelle, I look forward to following your adventures in your new Lance!!
As I was posting yet another question on the Lance forum, I had a chuckle, recalling your comment here, Dan!! Lance owners are now the ones shaking their heads at my pesky questions as I overthink everything!

Maybe so, but better to "over think" than to not think at all!

You are never pesky. I would say "persistent and inquisitive in a good way."

OP HERE...seems as if I have a propensity for buying nightmare trailers, even expensive ones. I paid for 6 nights at a COE campground for the Lance's maiden voyage. Guess how many nights I lasted? Wait for it - 3/4 of 1 night!

Door wouldn't stay shut (latch and deadbolt won't latch) and the strut kept pushing door open. And I went to put a pillow under my shoulder around 4:00A, and said to myself, "Self, this isn't damp...this is WET." I was pulling out of the CG at 6:00A.

This was after a leak earlier in the week destroyed the solar charge controller set in an interior wall...

Sigh. I'm a curse.

Whoa ~ that is not good news!!!

Maybe should have tired a campout in the driveway first but then again, who would have thought of such issues ???

Hope your dealer has a competent repair department and honors the warranty.

I had it in the driveway for a couple of weeks. That's how I found the first leak that destroyed the charge controller.

And the dealer...ha! They're a big Lance dealer in Huntsville. I saw the tech on the roof installing my fantastic vent cover. Climing on the roof of my model (and the next model up) is a BIG NO-NO. But there he was. I got an email apology from the service manager, filtered through the saleslady.

We'll see how all this comes out.

Sigh. We are sending you a cyber-hug. That's the best I can do at this distance.

How far is it to the dealership? Mine is 40 miles away, which in Southern Calif is 90 minutes to two hours.

Hang in there!
