The one for the sticks & bricks showed up yesterday, so that was 5 weeks. I filed the claim on November 5th.

There are a couple of models not included in the recall.

That's true. The recall only applies to models with plastic handles. The replacements I received have metal handles.

Ditto ~ black metal handles.

Just checked the one in our home kitchen and it is on the list. Need to go check the one in the trailer.

Well out of the four fire extinguishers we rounded up only the newest one is recalled. We have two that fit this description as not being recalled even though they have plastic handles. And one isn’t a Kidde.
The fourth one which is push button that we bought this year for the Shasta is on the recall list. They will send out a new one.

Got a letter in the mail yesterday from Thor telling me that my fire extinguisher was being recalled by Kidde with info on how to get it replaced. I did buy my FF new in 2010, but I'm surprised that Thor has the records from way back then.

I received the same letter yesterday too. Purchased mine new in spring 2012.

Clearly, a legal CYA move by Thor IMO.

We got the letter too for the 189fbr we sold a year ago. Out of the four extinguishers we did gather up only the newest one was on the recall. We already got a replacement but it is s different size from the new one we have yet to send back. The new one won’t fit the holder. We will take the one being replaced to FedEx drop off tomorrow.

I just thought it was a bit unusual that they would still have info from 7 years ago in their records.
Which reminds me I still have one to send back.

LJAZ - well, we still get letters for a POS Nissan Altima the wife purchased some 9 years ago and after about 17K miles was fortunate enough to unload 3 years ago. Manufacturers seem to keep initial vehicle purchasers info in file.

Eagle, you're right, I'm sure it was just a CYA thing. I just remember other posters here in the past contacting Cruiser for info on their trailers and coming up empty. So maybe they have a record you bought a trailer but no details on what you actually bought.

I finally got my replacement extinguisher last week. Only took 9 months, and a few phone calls. But I think it was the story I saw on the local news that did it. When I called after that story, they didn't have any problem at all finding my original request.

I replaced via the recall the fire extinguisher that came in my camper some time ago.

HOWEVER - it seems (per this class action lawsuit) there are a number of additional Kiddie fire extinguishes that can be non-functional when needed.

Here is the link: https://www.classaction.org/blog/lif...=ca_newsletter

I posted this as the links about don't work.
