Default Our '96 Shasta fifth wheel is 95% done

Still need to do finish paint in the bunk area and replace fittings (water fill, elec outlet, rubber trim around things, etc.
We are really happy with it. It was a lot of work, but worth it. We took our first trip downstate Tuesday and returned last night. No problems and it pulled like a dream.
I still can't make a public album on here. I haven't heard from Janet. So please let me know if you can see my Flickr album of photos.
They are a bit out of order.

Thank you! So glad you could view the photos without signing up for Flickr.
I wish I could post a photo in a post but can't. 😩
I think we are done with big projects. Getting too old for this stuff. But right now we are relaxing in our back screened in porch watching the sunset and listening to the birds. Life is good.

Wow your remodel job looks great, however I am completely tired out from just looking at the pictures. Maybe I could have done that 20 yrs ago but not now. Enjoy

That really looks nice. I can't believe you did all that in the last few months. Well done.

Thanks for the kind comments. We loved our Funfinder during the year we had it. Never gave us a problem (except a bit of wrinkle in the front). The best part about the 189 was that you could back it into the smallest spot. Perfect for dispersed camping and small sites. But having three dogs underfoot was impossible. And they go where we go. Kansas, so happy for you. Will look forward to photos of your trip. Charles, we both turned 70!!! 6 months ago. No more big re-dos for us! The pain was noticeable, not to mention the memory issues..."where DID I put that tool!!?", Twinster, we were determined to get out and camp asap. Bought it March 22nd and planned to camp May 23rd. Didn't make that one, but did camp a week later. The painting was the worst part. Tight squeezes around cabinets, cabinets close to the ceiling, tons of doors, etc. We had a spare piece of wood from the Funfinder microwave cabinet that was extra when we put the convection microwave in it. We liked the color of the FF cabinets so much that we had them mix paint to match it for the Shasta wall color. We used Glidden Gripper primer. The Behr finish paint covered the walls and cabinets very well in one coat, with some touch up. Happy. Foam rollers rock!!! The jacknife was a bear to reupholstering. I chose a thick indoor outdoor fabric. Very hard to see curves on. My goof, but it turned out good. The floor is grip strip vinyl. Goes down easy but the weird angles in area like the hall and bathroom were tricky. 18" carpet tiles for the bedroom and stairs. They stick down. But we will be recovering the stairs with carpet with a higher pile. Love the new kitchen sink, faucet and toilet. Toilet is ceramic and standard height.

Thanks!! It was a lot of work but so worth it. Now we need to deal with the outside. Paul has cataract surgery on his right eye Monday and his left eye on June 13th. Hope both go well. We have reservations to camp again on June 23rd on the Au Sable river here in Michigan.

Some talented workmanship on the remodel ... tends to increase the pride of ownership with personal touches.

And wonderful your first outing went perfect too so now you can enjoy more 'Happy Camping' adventures.

Thanks so much Eagle. We didn't know what to expect with the new old rig. But she proved herself worth.

That looks so nice! You did some nice work on it. Did you just paint the walls or replace the wall covering?

Hi Marti, I'm so sorry, I just saw your comment. Thank you. We Painted the walls with Behr satin finish latex and the cabinets with Behr alkyd, satin finish. But first we did the prep and primed with Glidden Gripper. We liked the white cabinets in our '08 FF so much that I asked Home Depot to match the color for the Shasta cabinets. But they seems to be not as bright a white in the Shasta. I assume it is due to the lighting. It was a LOT of work but worth it.
