I've seen some horrible pictures and videos of camper/motorhome peeling items off the roof when attempting to go under low bridges, awnings, etc.
Has anyone here had such an unfortunate event?

When I lived in upstate NY there was a railroad bridge with only about 10 ft or so of clearance. It got hit several times as I recall. Once by one of the delivery drivers of the company I was working for at the time. That was his last day.

Wow. Seems like lots of 5rs and class As are exactly 11'8" high at the roof line so that bridge is perfect for scraping off anything added on.
There used to be a website out there that had a listing of all the low bridges in the US. Not sure if it's still available.

I recently saw a front cap that had been wrapped in chrome. Eye-catching, to say the least, and more than a little dazzling. It sure was easy to see it coming at you. WOW!

Now we are talking, chrome would be sweet. This thread has a couple different discussions happening. In regards to hard fiberglass front facing, it was caused by the manufacturer trying a new releasing agent for the cap mold. It is not compatible with paint any is bleeding through anything you apply. Like another post said he is on his 3 repaint of the front cap. It will never go away until you replace the cap or find a way to seal before painting. It is not like the normal hazing of the gel coat issues in the past. It's worse.

I've talked to a few shops that specialize in wraps. They'd be happy to do it, and honestly, there is some way cool choices of wraps. Only problem, wraps only last 3 to 5 years. I know, long enough to sell it !

With some testing and applied properly, wraps can be clear coated. And most clear coats these days are non-yellowing.
