Default Selling our FF189fbr

Sadly we will be putting our little Funfinder up for sale soon. We purchased a 26 ft. 1996 (yes, you read that correctly) Shasta fifth wheel that we are remodeling.
We have loved the FF this past year but it is just a bit too small to hold the two of us and our three dogs. The new to us Chevy Silverado HD 2500 pulls it like there isn't anything back there. We may even take the cats now. We have torn apart the jackknife couch and I will be recovering it and the dinette cushions as well as make curtains, paint the walls and cabinets and lay new vinyl flooring. The FF has a lot of great features, including plenty of storage. But the Shasta has a walk around bed! But it's one of the low ceiling models. I actually think the Shasta has less outside storage. But it came with one of those diamond plate Tractor Supply 4' boxes that sits on a hitch rack. I'll post a photo on my gallery.

I went to galleria and yours isn't there anymore. What happened to it? Did it get taken down since you no longer have a fun finder?

Yes, I did. We'll miss the little guy. He is cleaning up very well. Someone will be happy with him I'm sure. This is a forum for FF owners about FFs. I wouldn't have much to contribute in the future. My contributions didn't seem well received anyway. I appreciated your interest and friendship since you joined. Enjoy!!

Send me a "pm" with your email address (if you want) so we can keep in touch! As for your contributions here, I certainly appreciated them and found many helpful as well as inspirational! Good luck with the "new guy" and maybe we'll meet one day!

Good luck with your new trailer. And there is not a requirement that you have to own a funfinder to post here so please feel free to continue to chime in and let us know how the new rig is coming along. After all, all trailers share much of the same equipment and have similar issues that we can learn from. At least post up a photo of your new rig

Thanks guys. We've totally cleaned up the exterior of the Funfinder so far. It hasn't looked this good since we bought it. Amazing what a mixture of Dawn, bleach and water can do.
Next we need to do the inside. But that won't be bad once we remove everything. Sad to see him go. But onward! We have a new project to work on and treat like a money pit!

I remember. That was amazing! Maybe it has to do with location? Ours doesn't have a slide. I should add to the ad that there is the drop down bunk that could sleep a child or small adult and the dinette converts to a bed as well. And pleated shades.
We were thinking of asking $8000 since the like new hitch is included along with the Fantastic fan, new mattress and convection microwave.
Here is an ad I saw.

The thing is that you don't see many for sale that are nice and lightweight and have as nice features; big fridge, dual axel, etc.

Since I've seen your mods, and if we lived closer, I might ask DH to take a road trip to check it out, but, alas, no such luck! I'm sure you won't have any trouble selling it soon!

Default This is interesting

This ended up in the wrong place...can't figure out how to delete it. Posted it as a new thread.

From Vinnies Northbay Airstream ...
"Imagine it's now possible to run your air conditioning from one 2000 watt generator. That means you only need to lug around one Honda or equivalent generator. I installed my first kit this week and it's nothing short of amazing. If I ordered several of these kits do you think there would be some interest in having one installed on your Airstream?

EasyStart™ is a one-of-a-kind soft starter for single-phase motors operating at 115VAC or 230VAC, 50Hz or 60Hz, custom developed by Micro-Air.
EasyStart is not a "hard start kit" nor a start capacitor alone. These devices can only deliver a 10-20% reduction to a compressor's normal startup locked-rotor amperage (LRA). EasyStart is totally different.
EasyStart is a highly-sophisticated, microprocessor-controlled system that employs a 4-part start ramp, precisely sequenced using real-time closed-loop control, that even optimizes itself as it "learns" your compressor motor during the first few startups. This advanced system enables EasyStart to deliver up to 65-75% start current reduction. EasyStart also has numerous specialized fault checks not found in any other soft starter that provide further protection for your compressor motor.
EasyStart is therefore the perfect solution that allows an air conditioner or refrigeration compressor to operate on a generator, inverter, or limited utility power when it would otherwise not have functioned. It can also be applied to air compressor and watermaker pump motors.
The EasyStart 364 is capable of supporting up to a 36000 BTU (3 ton) compressor. It includes a fully-weatherproof (IP65), flameproof, plastic enclosure with an integrated mounting flange and a 40" (1m) harness. Specialized models exist for various applications.

Model Number(s): ASY-364-X36-IP (A/C units >10kBTU)
ASY-364-E36-IP (refrigeration & Icemakers)
ASY-364-T36-IP (refrigerator & A/C units <=10kBTU)
KIT-364-RT1 (installation kit)

Oh! Just like ours but without the upgrades. And probably used more because it's in the south. Maybe we should reconsider our price?? They called the dual axels "doilies". Our old dually Ford had dual tires. Lol"
