tongue weight scale
We all know how important it is to have a tongue weight of 10% - 15% of the trailer weight but how many actually weight the tongue of their fully loaded camper trailer? Different trips & different loads do alter the weight somewhat.
Has anyone used the "Weight-Safe" system? Looks pretty neat to me.
Check it out here:

Nice, but a little on the pricey side for me.

Oh, I agree. Same reason I didn't buy a Hensley hitch and opted for a Equa-l-izer band instead.
I did score one of these off ebay at a lesser and more reasonable price.

Our little rig is so light, I could use a jack stand and bathroom scale.

Hi Eagle,
Our 19 foot Tag-a-long feels great with or without the ATV... it tows nice, no sway, no whip, and the truck steers and stops normally... However, when you load a 500# ATV, I make sure the water tank is full and extra supplies are packed forward of the axles...
But... I have never used a tongue scale...

For safety and my own personal information, I've weighed my pickup and camper when fully loaded for a trip and the pickup alone so know the weights....but didn't know the tongue weight loaded. The Sherline scale found in ebay was very economical with low starting bid;, threw in a bid that was the only one! Now I know and have even less concern about overloading than ever.

I believe that you have gone the correct direction and recommend that route to trailer owners. I haven't because of a number of excuses, but should change my habits and learn the actual dry and loaded weights...
