Trailer Covers

How many people cover their RVs for the winter. I do and even put it on in the summer. My trailer still looks like new and its 2015. My Dad just ordered one for his 43 ' Class A. ADCO seems to make the best one so far. Is there any experience with any other brands. Silverado.

I do in Michigan. My covers last about 3 seasons and then they are toast.

What cover are you using? Mine is on its fourth year.

This is the most expensive one I found, it advertised as for Harsh climates. Silverado

I have never used a cover and never plan to. I did store my unit in a cold storage building for several years but the cost became prohibitive - and apparently for many others as well since hundreds are parked outside for use and/or wintertime year 'round.

IMO, if the exterior is properly cared for, same as your house/car/tow vehicle, no problem.

No problem Eagle but in 10 years we will compare exterior shape. I used to store my unit in a heated shop unil I sold the farm. $500,000 shop is a lot to spend to protect a $20,000 dollar unit. $400 for a cover seems like pretty cheap insurance to me. I like the fact it keeps the sun off and ice from forming around all the seams on the roof. Winter's are bad up here not just were you live and the freeze thaw cycle seems to getting more frequent. 😉 Here is a picture, proof is in the pudding, my 2015 trailer is used about 40 to 50 nights a year and I hope to use it many more years .Silverado 😁

The cover I purchased this fall was a Leader Accessories Travel Trailer RV Cover Fits 16' 17' 18' feet Trailer Camper 3 Layer from amazon. I think I paid around $150 for it. I bought it because they say it was 100% polyester.
If so, it should do well in sunlight. Not overly impressed with the cover since it is so thin, but we will see how it holds up with time.

For the life of me, I don't understand why most covers have roof top material made of polypropylene. Polypropylene degrades severely under ultraviolet sunlight.

Hi I had a cover from a online store that lasted 3 years. Then I got cut offs from a greenhouse supply store 2 10x20 remnants and zip tied them together with a canvas tarp under them so there would be no reaction with the trailer and the plastic. I used it 7 years but this was way to heavy . Then I built this this summer, just finished it last week. 20201117_155638.jpg

Thanks, Had my Grandson help digging holes setting posts etc. learning what he doesn't want to do the rest of his life. proud of him, most kids today wouldn't stick with it the way he did. He made gas money and I got the help I needed, plus some time with the grandson.
