Default Trip report: September in Northern Washington

We spent a month in our tiny Fun Finder, and we were sorry to come home! Here is the trip report -- this is the first of three blog posts, and you can easily navigate to the other two after clicking on this link. Please feel free to browse through these posts -- lots of pictures!

Once again, you have entertained and amazed us with your fabulous accounts of your adventures. Simply love the pictures and feel like I'm in school as I read your descriptions and anecdotes. Looking forward to your next expedition. You've also inspired me to get back to editing more of our videos from our trip through the same areas this past summer. I'll be uploading another tonight from Sunset Bay State Park, along the coastline to Shore Acres State Park, OR. We have a good friend who is now 73 and born and raised in Coos Bay and knows the area well. He gave us a nice two day guided tour of the area. He still lives in the house that he was born in. You can get a sneek peek on our blog if you're interested ... www.travelswithyoly.blogspot.com

This was before we got our Fun Finder by the way.

Another amazing post!

How's your foot?

What do you carry in your backpacks?
(asked the novice hiker...)

Default Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words -- foot is doing a little better (although we just spent another several days hiking in the Sequoias).

What's in my backpack? Let's see -- four liters of water, tripod, camera, extra batteries for camera, windbreaker, survival equipment (water filter, tools, etc.), GPS, maps, compass, and binoculars. Kind of heavy, but since we go into some remote areas, I would not feel comfortable without the survival gear. We are prepared to spend the night if necessary -- if I were to break an ankle, there is no way Felice could carry me -- I weigh almost exactly twice what she does.
