Default Winter camping in the Southern Sierra: no snow this year

And to all of you folks back East suffering with the cold and snow, don't feel bad that you can't go camping like those of us out West. We are in the middle of a horrible drought -- weeks of hot dry weather in the winter -- and who knows how long our forests will last? If this keeps up, it'll be just plain desert everywhere. I'll take a real winter, anytime. My skis and snowshoes are gathering dust in my garage.
