Default Arizona Trip Feb - March 2016

Hi all,
Just got back from Arizona ... A great trip and fantastic weather

We stayed at a couple places while there, the ones pictured was at the Escapees North Ranch in Congress, AZ above and NW of Phoenix about 45 min. drive.

We stayed there almost two weeks and then went south of Tucson to visit sister and brother-in-law for a few days.

The Escapees North Ranch is a nice park with adequate space between spaces and offers a nice discount to members; we paid less than $25/night...

HOWEVER, we returned to freezing temps and prediction of more cold and possible snow... that meant draining everything AGAIN to keep from freeze damage...

A great trip... love AZ this time of year with days in the 70's and 80's, but the nights cool right down to a nippy 40'ish at night...

Glad to hear that your trip went well. Good deal on the campground cost. They are predicting maybe 8" of snow for us tonight and tomorrow. But it's always a guess. We have had some nice sunny weather and moderate temperatures lately.

Hi Mich,
Glad to get back and get on the Forum again...

I am starting to check out the next spot .... the Back Hills, the UP, Northern Wisconsin, or Northern MN... I like to Metal Detect and also look for gold... those seem to be likely spots to try, but the weather says cold into the middle of May. And I am still researching for some place more specific than the 1000's of acres mentioned...

I've been making reservations all over Michigan. In September we'll be doing the U.P. for eight nights at 4 different places, mostly State Parks. Before then we'll be taking quick two night trips to Wilderness , Leelenau, Hoeft, and a small campground called Sunken Lake. That's the only place we will have full hook-ups.
Only Leelenau has none. Having three dogs and two cats makes us get creative with getting away. We'll play it by ear. As of yesterday we have maybe 6" of snow and this morning freezing rain was coming down. Ugh!! But the camper is now totally stocked with all of the equipment we will be leaving it it. That was fun.

FYI ~ in the Black Hills, I've stayed at the Rafter Bar J ranch just south of Hill City. Great campground and lots of room at each site.

Thanks Eagle,
I'll check that out and see if the location will work into my plans...
