2008 x210 - Bedside Sconces Power Problem

The push-button reading sconces by the bed in our 2008 x210 won’t turn on anymore and we are wondering if any of you have had to solve this problem? We specifically are looking for information about where they get their power from so we can trace the wires, as there seems to be no power to the sconces anymore (my husband has tested).

A couple of weeks ago on the first night of our first camping trip of the season, the one on my side of the bed wouldn’t turn on. My husband had to press the button for his a few times. When his lit up I was able to turn mine on … but both lights were flickering. After about 5 minutes, they both went out. I tried pushing the buttons a bunch of times but couldn’t get them to turn back on. So we went to bed, and about 30 minutes later my husband’s light turned back on. That was the last time either light worked.

These lights did work last season (which was our first season with this great little trailer), though I do remember that they flickered sometimes.

Any ideas?

We have a ‘07 x210. A couple of years ago, we replaced the OEM bedside sconces with more modern (and way more attractive) LED lamps. We weren’t having issues other than that they were just plain ugly :roll.
In your case, my first guess would be the wiring/switch of the fixture itself. You said that your husband “tested” them and found no power. Did he check the fixture or the wiring behind the wall? I would sort that out by removing the sconce, disconnecting the wires and check them with a volt meter or just a 12volt bulb. If the wiring is good, problem solved. Get new (and less ugly) lamps. If there is no voltage coming thru the wires, you may have bigger issues. Do the ceiling lights work? Does the light inside the pass thru on the “road side” work? If they work, it’s possible that a mouse may have nibbled thru the wiring . Bigger job for sure but your symptoms are pointing more to faulty switches in the fixtures. I suppose there could be an issue in the power distribution unit below the skinny (useless) closet just to the left of the fridge, so check the circuit breakers there.
I’m still rooting for bad switches in the fixtures so start there. Good luck .

We had that problem on our 2017 x160.
It turned out to be the splice electrical connectors in the storage near the floor. I just replaced with slide in electrical connectors.
The old ones were like a blade that cut into the wire when they were squeezed. I think after all the vibrations the the old style cut through the wire
