We just bought a used 2012 Funfinder X214WSD with an electric awning. The awning is not working poireprly. Here is what I know. Appreciate any insights or ideas? ?
1. The awning had not been used in a few years.
2. We opened and closed it a few times with no problem using the toggle switch just inside the trailer door on the left.
3. Upon trying to close it on the third day, it blew a fuse.
4. I replaced the fuse and it clicked at the motor but did not engage.
5. On another try it did engage.
6. Once we got it closed, the next day it would not open or close.
7. Trying again later it opened, and then would not close.
8. The only way we were able to close it manually was by having one person hold down the toggle switch while another person got on a step ladder and manually rolled it up.
9. At one point it seemed like adding or removing tension on the bolt on the sliding arms (that lock the awning angle when extended) engaged the motor but that only happened twice for a second or two.
10. The end of the awning, where the motor housing appears to be, seems to be attached to the rest of the awning by rivets rather than screws.
I cannot find instructions or a make or model on the awning, but they seller told us it was installed as an option when they purchased the trailer new.
Any help is appreciated. Thank You.
