280 QBS LED Awning Lights

Anyone install these and wire back to the master panel? we're taking delivery of our camper next week and already see lots of things I need to do. Why don't they install light switches in these things? Here's a starter list:
1. Wire and install awning lights
2. Install light switch and possible bunk lights in bunk room.
3. Don't even know if bath has light switch?
4. Doors and drawers under dinette seating.
5. Exterior grill.
6. Bike rack.
7. Power jack.
8. TV and bracket.
9. Cut shelving under sink so a garbage can fits.
10. Is there lighting in storage area?

Wow, good thing I got a good price this list is getting long.

I bought a '16, maybe those are '17 models? Got mine for $18,900 brand new but it doesn't have those features I mentioned. It has the blue front LED lights that I'll switch out to white. Why on earth are they putting blue lights on everything? I'm coming from a fifth wheel and I guess I'm kind of spoiled with the little extras and storage space.

I must clarify, the show was by a local dealer who doesn't sell the Cruiser line so no Cruiser units displayed. Sorry, I should have mentioned that initially.


Yes, I did notice blue outside lights on some show units and wondered why they would use blue as well.

Also most new (all non-cruiser brand) units had an extensive use of grey colors inside ... grey sinks, grey floor covering, etc. I didn't much care for overuse of the grey color.

Congratulations on your new camper. Which model are you getting? We had a 32' fifth wheel and loved it. We traveled for 11 months in it around the whole country.

We're getting the Shadow Cruiser 280 QBS. Decided to downsize to a 1/2 ton truck from a 3/4 ton diesel. Miss the power but boy is the ride nicer. For the price it seems like it should be a decent camper. I have to say the workmanship in campers (most all I've seen) sure is lacking. Being a former finish carpenter this really bugs me.

That is a really nice floor plan. And it sounds like you are getting a great deal. But I know what you mean about the quality. "They don't make them like they used to" really seems to apply yo the RV industry unfortunately. I posted a Cruiser RV video a while back and it showed the workers really rushing things...probably prompted by management.
By the way, we paid $6999 for our little 2008 189FBR in January. So you can feel really good about your deal.

Thanks, I thought it was a decent deal and put money down sight unseen. Got a chance to see it this last weekend. I needed some more projects so bring on the list from above and a few others like straightening cabinet doors, re-nailing trim, etc.

Yes, congratulations on your 280 QBS. Also bought sight unseen over the internet and first ever camper/toy hauler. I spent several days going over mine after getting it home .... inside/outside/on top and underneath making mostly minor adjustments. Unlike some, I've have not encountered any major issues, all minor tweeking and alterations for my preference.

I went from a 3/4 ton to a 1/2 ton a few years before getting my XT276 and the ride in a 1/2 ton is much softer and the 1/2 ton pulls the XT276 just fine. But, being time to update the tow vehicle, opted to move up to 3/4 ton pickup again.

Thanks Eagle. I purchased a '16 GMC Sierra w/ 5.3l, 3.42 rear end and 8 speed tranny. Should pull the QBS alright I hope.

Nice ~ but the price of the new pickups is horrible IMO. I opted for a very lightly 2014 Ram 2500 4x4 Crew cab, 6' 4" box w/6.4 Hemi (410 HP) and 3.72 gear ratio....lower than I have now so expect far better tow ability on hills.
