This weekend - will be in very hot Ohio at a Fairgrounds. My plug in choice is 15amp or 50amp...of course my 189FDS is 30amp. Can I get an adapter and plug into 50amp. ? I do not want to mess up my trailer in any way.

I have a 50 amp adapter I use whwn 30 amp is not available.
I had no problems with it.
I Bought it at walmart it happened to be a few miles down the road when I got to the campground that didnt have 30 amp service.

Everyone shoud have a 50 amp adapter and a 15 amp one also.

Thanks..I knew 15amp could not run ac, just thought 50 would get too hot or something..I'm not very good at knowing amps, volts and thingys. Sbb

A 50 amp adapter will work quite well. I routinely use my adapter whenever 50 amp plugs are available. For the time being, since the 50 amp plugs are "newer" installations and used less frequently, the plugs and wiring tend to be in better condition and make better contact. This will prevent voltage loss from loose/sloppy connections at "well worn" 30 amp connectors. A worn or loose 30 amp connector will tend to drop volt/amp capacity through heat loss in a worn connection (think of the current used in a radiant heater - same principle). You'll be fine with a 50 amp connection, they aren't 220 volt, merely two legs (as opposed to one) of 120 volt electricity. :)

Thank you..now just have to find one..no go at Walmart or local truck place. Since I'm on way to Cleveland I'm going to checkout any RV dealers along the way. Sbb
