A/C thermostat question

Our 2006 t160X has a roof mount a/C unit with controls on the unit as u look up on ceiling....now, what is the deal with the thermostat located on the port side, up front of camper? Think roof air unit was replaced at some point or does this thermostat function? Just traded for this unit an am learning on the fly.

Think I answered my own question. Had AC running n played around with thermostat in question and "heater" came on. So......it controls heat! Solved I guess. AC unit seemed to make a lot of vibration noise! Well when I put my hand on the microwave the noise stopped....hmmmm, gotta look into this! Think my camper might be possessed?? Today is install of new awning material. Life is good.

LOL, maybe I will try putting my hands on things and see if I can get my a/c to be quieter - it is NOISY. and I agree, Life is GOOD!
