It's that time of the year again. Got the XT276 emptied out, winterized, aired the tires and all prepared for inside winter storage again.

This past week, there have been nights with below freezing temperatures and yesterday afternoon, I took her to the country fairgrounds for rented, inside storage.

I won't see it again until spring. :(

I'm getting there as well. Glad I'm not the only one that's splurging on inside storage. With all the little things that have turned up since I bought it used, and now knowing from another member that the 'case' of mine was made of wood, I am not sure it would withstand the snow load we can get up here in Canada.

There is alot of variation in temperature and snowfall here during the winter.

Winter temps of -20 to -30 F are not uncommon. The low in 2009 was -42 Fl so proper winterizing is a must.

As for snow, some winters there is very little and sometimes alot but the overall average is about 38". However, the winter of 2010-11, snowfall amounted to 63" but the winter of 2014-15, total snowfall was only about 10".

One must also consider the wind which tends to always be present and at times, gusts near/over 50 MPH are not uncommon.

I love the challenge of cooking a Holiday meal outside, over a fire.
This year, since I'll be in FL for Thanksgiving (condo), I plan to camp here over Christmas. Come on down - east central AR.

One last weekend for us too, then to the county fairgrounds next week. $140 for the 189... indoors for the winter.

Heading to Keuka Lake ( Finger Lake) for what appears to be a beautiful fall weekend!!
Heater will definitely be needed @ night.

Out here it's finally getting to the point where I don't need to run the AC anymore!

We're towing up to the Blue Ridge for a few days next week. It'll be the last trip on this set of tires as they are wearing pretty bad on the inside.
We are putting out little rig aside until axle replacement, sometime during winter or early spring. We keep ours at home in Georgia so we get to hook it up here and can go out and "pretend" camp in the backyard on warmer winter days.:razz:

We are camping at the Platte River Campground at Sleeping Bear Dunes in Michigan as I type. It has been chilly st night and we are using our furnace some. We plan to put her in inside storage at the end of October. We bought it last January and kept it outside uncovered until spring. We worried about tree limbs falling on it and moved it to a more open area. We didn't get a whole lot of snow last year but in 2013-2014 we got about 250 inches! It varies a lot here in northern Michigan near Lake Michigan.

Thanks, we are.
But, we actually like the snow. Paul loves snowmobiling and does some grooming and I do the trail reports for the groomers. Better to have snow than just cold and gray.

It's that 'lake effect snow' in Michigan.

I know all about it as lived/worked in Saginaw for a year some time back.

I've seen a lot of snow.......on TV.:D

Seriously we had a snowfall about two/three years ago that was 2" deep! Shut Atlanta down for two days....:D

I guess some must like it HOT!

I've been to Florida twice, both in the late fall and don't care to ever, ever go there again. Far to HOT and HUMID for me & reminds me of my time in the military - mid 60's in SE Asia. :(

Looks like you found a remedy to the winter problem tho. Your holiday spot looks gorgeous!

We do get lake effect snow since we live 20 miles from Lake Michigan. It happens when cold air passes over the warmer lake water. It sucks up the moisture then dumps it. But it's not good snow for grooming snowmobile trails. Better if the big lakes freeze. They didn't last year and we had a lot of cloudy days.
