A bad accident 9/16/16. Four injuries - two each vehicle. A motor home pulled in front of the semi on a fast, busy road. The motor home was blown apart as the photo shows. The tractor is buried in the side. The highway was closed for a day and a half.
Very sad for all involved. The MH driver is in critical condition.

Yes, that is bad for all involved.

Sadly, see drivers doing stupid things every day on the streets and highways from ignorance to texting to over driving conditions and/or their driving ability.

The newer vehicle are the worse with those 'touch screen' controls that take your eyes off the road and the phone capability too....distracts from driving.

The 73 year old driver pulled directly in front of the semi from a side road. The Little River Casino is right there. They may have visited the casino or stayed over night in their RV parking area. That RV just exploded.
By the way, the propane tanks were empty, of course.

Pretty good visibility on US31 at that intersection. RV driver should have seen him . Such a shame for all involved.

Yes, but more than a flashing light would help there too. Summertime traffic gets crazy on both roads, especially with the casino there. All it takes is a momentary distraction and lack of attention sometimes.

From the local fishwrap.

The driver of the motorhome was John Witkowski, 74, and his passenger, Janice Witkowski, 72, both from Manistee. Crash investigation revealed that Witkowski failed to yield properly at the intersection.
