The lighting in the XT 276 is very poor by the bathroom sink.

I would like to add a three bulb vanity fixture above the medicine cabinet.

Does anyone know where to splice in wires, how to run the wires behind the paneling, etc. to install a vanity light fixture?

:?:

Re: Adding bath vanity lighting

Hope this helps in some way...

"Uses your RV’s wall-mounted switch to turn on and off.
Twelve volt lights are pre-wired and color-coded for quick and easy installation."

Thanks, another fixture option to consider much like the ones Camping World has.

What I need to know is how to run the wires behind the camper panels and where to tie them into with a switch.

Wonder if it would be best to tap in under the camper since the wiring is in the open and run wires up the wall to a switch to be installed and then up to where the fixture will be ............ or ?? if there are wires near the vanity behind the paneling that can be tapped into.

Apparently, no one knows how to tap into the wiring for a vanity light installation project.

Are you talking about swapping the existing 12 volt fixture or changing to a 110 volt? 12 volt wires seem to run through every opening, 110 not so
much.

I added two LED bulbs to existing fixture and that made a difference. You could run off that fixture to add another nearby.

PLanned to use a 12 volt fixture.

Guess I will pull down the ceiling light fixture and see if I can snake wires over to above the sink/vanity.

Dont forget the LED's in the Medicine cabinet !

I bought battery powered LED light at Harbor freight and mounted on top of the cabinet. The light moves up and down as I need too.

I put galley railing around the top of the medicine cabinet and also the kitchen cabinets. It REALLY dressed up the appearance.....also if you put small items on top of the cabinets, they stay there.

Havent' decided what type of light fixture yet and still need to check on running wires.

I couldn't find an easy way to run wires behind the walls, either 12 volt or 120 volt, so I took the easy route.

I installed a 120Volt, 3 bulb vanity light over the medicine cabinet this afternoon. It was an easy project & mounted it with short drywall anchors/screws....didn't want to puncture thru the outside wall.

I picked up a 3 bulb light fixture at Menards (like home depot) for under $9 and a 6' indoor extension cord for .99 cents. I installed the fixture, spliced in the extension cord (cut to length) so the male plug end just reaches the 120V outlet on the right side of the sink. NO switch, just plug in the cord and there is light. I screwed in 3 coiled flouresent bulbs and now, the wife has all the light she wants.
