In the last couple of years have had problems getting into RV campgrounds because it appears my 2009 189FBS is too old. These are mostly private facilities. I keep my unit in prime condition doing a thorough detailing every spring and I have no exterior homemade DYI appendages attached. Has anyone else experienced the same?

Haven't had that issue, but we mostly stay in state parks or national parks.

Indeed, I have had this happen in private parks on two occasions. In each case I sent pictures of our with our 2008 210WBS, which, like yours, gets an annual waxing, etc. and it was accepted.

Hasn't happened to us yet. Which is a little surprising considering the age of our rig and tow vehicle. Everything is kept in great shape (except the driver :D).
We avoid the "Resorts" and prefer state parks and more mom-n-pop type campgrounds. Fits our budget a little better anyway and is usually more fun.

I mostly stay at state or national campgrounds. However I have stayed at a couple of private campgrounds and got asked once. I told them I have a 2011 that is going into classic mode in age and that's the way I treat it. They didn't ask any other questions just said come on down. Like others I really enjoy my camper and I treat it as such it gets waxed. And treated well.

I’ve never been asked the age or condition of my FF. At 17 years, it’s definitely less glamorous than many of the newer makes and models but still in decent condition. I keep it clean and have minimized the “bubba’d” look ;-). I do kinda understand tho why an “upscale” campground may wish to discourage the “riff raff” but as we’ve all seen, there’s plenty of “RRWM” (riff raff with money) out there. The age of the camper has little if anything to do with that situation. Just sayin’.
