Getting the trailer ready for a trip to Kansas City in 2 weeks. What is more important than having Dish Network ready to go?

Never watching cable tv is more important to us. Lol!!
But different strokes for different folks as they used to say.

Never had Dish service but did have Direct TV for about 11 years some time ago. It was great.

IIRC at that time, Direct had better programming than Dish but sure that has all changed by now.

Dish has a nice program for RV users... a pay by the month program I believe. Some say just move the receiver from your house to the RV & as long as you have a dish on the RV it will work. but ??

MichiganTraveler - This trip is a work trip. Going up there to do a kitchen for Sears, so the trailer is a mobile motel. Therefore, TV is a must (at least for me). If it was camping, then no TV is fine.

Eagle -
I have the trailer receiver on my house account @ $7/mo. It is not really a "house" receiver, it's set up for traveling. Dish has the "pay as you go" program, but in the end, it's more expensive than what I pay now. The disadvantage to having it on the house acct is that I can't get local channels on the road. I would have to change the zip code on my acct to do that. When I'm working, it's usually outside a fairly large metro area, so the trailer's OTA antenna takes care of locals. The advantage to my set up is that on nice nights, I can set the dish up, connect the receiver to a projector and do outdoor movies on a 10 ft screen. Bought my wife a Disney inflatable screen (it has Mickey Mouse ears on it). Pulp Fiction on a Disney screen, seems so wrong yet feels so right.
