Anyone here run on Goodyear Marathon Tires?

If so, what are your thoughts? We wanted the Endurance but opted for Marathons due to the budget.

We have towed on a set of Marathons, Load Range C, for 30,000 miles with no problem -- rough Calif. freeways, rocky roads, hot weather. We did not exceed 65 and usually towed at about 62.

They showed a little wear, and they were four years old, so I just replaced them with the Endurance, Load Range D. I probably could have gotten another year out of the Marathons, but I am inherently risk-averse.

Thanks so much for the good review on the Marathons. The 8 ply American made Endurance should serve you very well. We wanted them but could not swing it for our money pit. Lol!!!

I've been running Marathons for about 3 years now. No problems at all. When it's time to change I will probably opt for the Endurance. Not that I'm displeased with the Marathons, just that the Endurance weren't on the market 3 years ago.

I have been using the Marathons and for about 2k miles. So far no complaints.

We have run Marathons for 4 years without problems and am guessing about 8,000 miles. I wish they were American made but they are not.

Thank you. If we think about it, we use many foreign products that turn out to be just fine. But we forget that. We can't generalize I guess.

A lot depends on who operates the foreign factory. Goodyear being an American company will operate a foreign factory pretty close to how it operates in the US. Factories operated by owners in the country of origin not so much.

I'm old enough to remember when we all thought Japanese products were junk. After the war they were scrambling to find a way to produce things for us. They had to stamp things "made in Japan". Those things are collectors items now. But we aren't thinking in those terms anymore are we? Some other countries have surpassed us in design and quality of their products. Americans may find that hard to believe.

The German engineering has a history of fine craftsmanship ... the German luger pistols and Heckler & Koch rifles. Also, it was German engineering that promoted the US putting man into space...with German engineering.
And Austria developed the Glock pistol used by many law enforcement agencies.
Sports cars are another area of great engineering/craftsmanship and performance by other countries.
