Here in the northern Great Plains states, the camping season is over for the year. There have been several feet of snow only a few hundred miles away already.

I have winterized my unit and completed all the necessary preparations for winter storage.

This AM, I hooked it up to my pickup and towed it to the country fairgrounds where, once again, I rented indoor camper storage for less than it would cost to park it in an outdoor storage area.......only $180 for the winter.

I was sad to leave it knowing that I won't see it again until next spring when it will be moved out of the storage building for me to pick it up in the spring.

Maybe, someday, if I ever win the lottery, I will become a "snowbird" during the winter months and travel thru the southern states.

We still have nice weather down south. Headed to Barber Motorsports park nov 9-10 for a trackday weekend.

Probably won't winterize until Dec 1st. Or maybe a week or so later since we may try to squeeze in one more track event at NOLA Motorsports trip near New Orleans.

Living in the south has its advantages but during the hot summer a good AC is a must which the 276 barely has.

Oh, yes I am very familiar with the weather 'down south' when employed with some corporations where a lot of travel was involved.

Places like New Orleans & Shreveport LA; Houston, Dallas, Temple McAllen Texas; Oklahoma City where I lived for a year; Phoenix, Tuscon, Yuma AZ; Orlando, Miami Fl; and many other places in the USA. Those places named were nice to visit in the winter months, but horrible (IMHO) in the summer...especially southern Texas, AZ and Florida, a state I hope to never see again.

Weatherwise, Indianapolis was nice all 4 season...at least the year I lived there :)

Hi Eagle: As always i am envious of that amazing deal you get each year for storage.
We are off to Costa Rica until at least the end of December, but its too far to tow the RV!
I have had mine away since Oct 15th as we also have snow already.

Hi Russ,

I too, am pleased with the good deal for indoor winter storage. What do they charge for indoor storage in your area?

Never been to Canada ~ but within a mile of the border a few times when in North Dakota. Now one needs a passport to cross over.

Costa Rica ..... what a change! Enjoy your time there and have a safe trip.

Hi, My husband and I also live in the midwest but have not found any type of great storage deal like you did, so "great job on that ", but we did feel the sense of loss when we took our travel trailer that we had bought in early August and brought it to its winter home, the local rv lot, and as we drove back home felt that sad feeling knowing that we won't see it again until spring. It truly will be a long winter. Hopefully some day we will retire and be able to use it year round, until then, we will just have to settle for a 3 seasons "play time".
