I did some checking around the local RV shops around the Whittier area. Ive been looking to have my awing fabric replaced. Most locations want around $500. bucks to do it. I found a guy who drove out to my storage location an replaced it in about 30 min. He charged me $325.00.

After watching him I am thinking I could have done it may self but it would have taken me a lot longer than 30 min.

That's pretty typical. The pro's have done the job many, many times. The rest of us have to figure things out as we go.

My awning has developed pinholes/small tears along the edge that connects to the camper. I am thinking about taking it off and cutting off the 4" or so, and then sewing a new channel. Wonder if I can do it without taking it completely off the camper if I bring my sewing machine outside? I'll let you know. Actually, we're going to let it go as long as it can until it really tears. I've put silicone on it, which screws up my ability to use gorilla tape . . . rats!

paintyliz, worth a try cut enough of the bad material off hopefully you'll have enough good material to sew.
